Felix Brych to take charge of DFB Cup final

Munich’s Dr. Felix Brych will referee this year’s DFB Cup final between Borussia Dortmund and VfL Wolfsburg (30th May, 20:00 CEST). He will be assisted by Mark Borsch and Stefan Lupp; Robert Hartmann will be the fourth official.

Herbert Fandel, who is responsible for refereeing at the DFB, explained: “Felix Brych has proven himself on a national and international level. He’s had a successful season and has taken charge of a number of tricky games. Selection for the Cup final is fully deserved.”

Brych: "Always a fantastic atmosphere"

Brych has taken charge of 16 Bundesliga games this season. Additionally, he has refereed six Champions League matches, including games between Manchester City & Barcelona and Real Madrid & Athletico Madrid. “I was delighted when Herbert Fandel informed me that I would be in charge of the DFB Cup final. I’ve watched a number of finals from the stands and there is always a fantastic atmosphere. I’m looking forward to experiencing things on the pitch.”

Felix Brych has been a DFB official since 1999 and a FIFA referee since 2007. He was on duty at the 2012 Olympic Games as well as last summer’s World Cup. He also refereed last year’s Europa League final between Sevilla and Benfica.
