Berger nominated for the Yashin Trophy

Germany goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger has been nominated for this year’s Yashin Trophy award after her strong performances at UEFA Women’s Euro 2025. The 34-year-old, who plays her club football in America for Gotham FC, has been nominated alongside England’s EURO winner Hannah Hampton (Chelsea), Spain’s Cata Coll (FC Barcelona), the Netherlands’ Daphne van Domselaar (Arsenal) and Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie (Brighton and Hove Albion). The winner will be announced at the Ballon d'Or ceremony on 22nd September.
Klara Bühl is part of the 30-player list for the Ballon d'Or, which Spaniard Aitana Bonmati will be hoping to win for the third successive year. Other nominees include five England players in the form of Chloe Kelly, captain Leah Williamson, Hannah Hampton, Lucy Bronze and Alessia Russo. Legendary Brazilian forward Marta is also on the list.
Wirtz nominated for the Ballon d'Or
New Liverpool player Florian Wirtz is among the nominees for the men’s Ballon d'Or. He is joined by Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Serhou Guirassy from the Bundesliga.
Former Germany coach Hansi Flick, who won La Liga and the Copa del Rey in his first season with FC Barcelona, has been nominated for the Men’s Coach of the Year award, coming up against Luis Enrique, a Champions League winner with Paris Saint-Germain, Antonio Conte (Napoli), Enzo Maresca (Chelsea) and Arne Slot (Liverpool). The nominees for the Women’s award include Sarina Wiegman, who guided England to their second successive European Championship title this summer.
