U21s to face Belgium in Essen

With qualification for the European Championship secured, the Germany U21 national team have two more games to look forward during the final international break of the year. On Friday, 13th November, head coach Antonio Di Salvo’s side will take on Belgium at the Stadion an der Hafenstraße in Essen. The team will then travel to Rijeka to face Croatia at 18:00 CET on Tuesday, 17th November.
“We secured direct qualification for next year’s European Championship in Albania and Serbia with three wins in our final three group matches. Our preparations for the tournament begin with the November fixtures. There are still around eight months to go until the finals, and we want to use that time to continue developing as a team and become increasingly familiar with our patterns of play. Our first opportunity to do that comes in November against strong Belgian and Croatian sides, who also won their groups in European Championship qualifying,” said Di Salvo. “We are particularly looking forward to the home match in Essen. The Stadion an der Hafenstraße is known for its fantastic atmosphere. With as many fans as possible behind us, we want to provide a special night of football.”
