Klopp: “The play and the movement were fantastic”

After an intense and occasionally heated encounter on matchday four of the Nations League, Germany and Greece could not be separated, drawing 0-0 in Thessaloniki. The gap to the Netherlands and today’s opponents is still three points for Germany. DFB.de has summarised all the most important quotes from the post-match interviews below.
Jürgen Klopp: I’m very happy since I know what we’re coming off the back of. I didn’t think it would be possible to play like that in the first half after just a week. The boys put in a top-notch performance. The play and movement were outstanding. From the 60th minute onwards, we were less calm and the structure was a bit less clear, but that’s natural. I’m very impressed with the team and the performance. Everyone has impressed in the two weeks, and everyone has justified their selection. If we defend like that as a team, then the lads can really cause a stir.
Florian Wirtz: We applied a lot of pressure but simply didn’t score. It goes without saying that it’s frustrating. On the whole, I think we can still be happy since there were a lot of good elements to the performance. You also can’t forget that we’ve only been together for a week.
Derry Scherhant: I think that we played well, especially in the first half. We just had to reap the reward for our efforts. We did a lot of things right, but – of course – it would have been nicer to win today. I’m over the moon with my first couple of caps for the national team – it was fun. In future, I’ll have faith in myself and give it my all.
