Women’s national team head coach Christian Wück has announced which 23 players will make up the squad for Germany’s first set of qualifying fixtures for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil. Sophia Kleinherne (VfL Wolfsburg) is back on the list for the first time since sustaining an injury during the side’s UEFA Women's EURO 2025 campaign. In addition, Carlotta Wamser (Bayer 04 Leverkusen) and Vivien Endemann (VfL Wolfsburg), both of whom were also unavailable for the last international break at the end of November, have also been called up once again.

Head coach Christian Wück said: “2025 was an eventful year. Now we’re focusing on taking the next steps in our development as a side and picking up where we left off in terms of our strong performance on the pitch last year. It’s been clear to see that a lot is going in the right direction, but we need to keep working hard to really get to where we want to be. That’s exactly what we’re going to do, with the clear goal of making a positive start to our qualifying campaign for the 2027 World Cup.”

Kicking off qualification at home to Slovenia

Injury issues have forced Wück to go without Bibiane Schulze Solano (Athletic Club) and Alara Şehitler (FC Bayern München) for this first round of qualifying fixtures. Kathrin Hendrich (Chicago Red Stars) will also remain in North America with her club as she continues to recover from a muscular injury to her right leg.

Germany women get underway in their World Cup qualifying campaign on Tuesday, 3rd March 2026, when the side welcome Slovenia to the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion in Dresden (kick-off scheduled for 17:45 CET). As they look to guarantee their spot at the final competition in Brazil, Germany will also battle it out against Women’s European Qualifiers Group A4 rivals Austria and Norway in the coming months, travelling to Stavanger on Saturday, 7th March 2026 to face the latter at 18:00 CET.
