Gwinn and Berger share the title of Germany’s Women’s Footballer of the Year

For the first time since 1996, two players will share the women’s Footballer of the Year award. Germany captain Giulia Gwinn (FC Bayern) and goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger (Gotham FC) both received 145 of the overall 608 votes from members of the German Sports Journalists' Association (VDS). Klara Bühl (FC Bayern) finished as the runner-up with 52 votes in the award held by sports magazine kicker. 2025 now marks the second time Berger has won this title, having also received the most votes last year.
Germany coach Christian Wück said: “Both Giulia and Ann-Katrin sharing the women’s Footballer of the Year award is confirmation of their performances – both on and off the pitch – over the last few weeks and months, where they have been performing at a very high level. I’m really pleased for the both of them and congratulate them on this deserved award.”
