German national women´s team captain Doris Fitschen received a UEFA award for her outstanding contribution to the women´s

game. Fitschen retired recently from the national team after winning a record 144 caps. The former sweeper won the European Championship in 1991, 1995, 1997 and 2001. She also got the bronce medal at the Olympic games 2000 in Sydney. [mm]
