U17s into EURO final after 4-3 win against England

Germany U17 Women have reached the final of the European Championships. In their semi-final match against England, Anouschka Bernhard’s side triumphed 4-3 after a brace from from Vanessa Ziegler (29’) and goals from Klara Bühl (41’) and Tanja Pawollek (57’).

They will face Spain in the final on Monday (19:00 CEST), with whom they played out a 2-2 draw earlier on in the tournament. The defending champions booked their place in the final with a 4-0 win against Norway. Both teams have by extension secured tickets to the World Cup in Jordan (30th September to 21st October).

Bernhard made one change to the side that won 4-0 against the Czech Republic, Verena Wieder slotting in to replace Vanessa Ziegler. 4,100 spectators watched the match in the Torpedo Stadium.
