U 19 Juniors take the glory late in extra time

The U 19 Juniors of the Deutscher Fußball-Bund (DFB) retain the European Championship by a late victory in extra time. Nathalie Bock and Monique Kerschowski finally cracked England's resolute defence to secure a 2-0 victory.

The game was dominated by the defences with just a few chances during the 90 minutes. Nadine Keßler came close, rattling the bar with a header during the second half. Just two minutes after the turnaround in extra time Bock scored, scrambling the ball in from close range. Monique Kerschowski added the second goal on a counterattack one minute from time.

Germany's women reached the final by beating France 4-2 in extra-time. Germany's U 19 defend their European title against England - they have also won the European Championships in 2000, 2001, and 2002.
