Löw: "Creating a masterplan for 2015"

Germany manager Joachim Löw is currently working on a “Masterplan” for 2015. “We have some ideas in regards to European Championship qualifying but there are also a few other things,” said the 54-year-old who was at Mercedes’ Stars and Cars event in Stuttgart. “Ahead of the World Cup we exhausted most of the possibilities. It’s now time to implement some new ideas and create a “masterplan.” It will only be a case of minor changes here and there but there could also be a few big decisions to be made.”

Above all, it is hoped that the senior team will “show great unity again like they did at the World Cup and in the build-up to the tournament,” said Löw. “During those eight weeks we were a perfect unit.” Since the start of qualification for the 2016 European Championships, Germany have had to deal with the retirements of long serving players Philipp Lahm, Per Mertesacker and Miroslav Klose as well as numerous injuries meaning “the team are still trying to establish a sense of unity once again.”
