Khedira and Juventus victorious in Champions League

Khedira and Kroos on course, Podolski unlucky. Germany internationals and World Champions took to the pitch with their respective club sides in the Champions League on Wednesday. Sami Khedira emerged victorious after a 2-0 (1-0) win over FC Sevilla in his first competitive match in Juve’s famous black and white shirt. Toni Kroos and Real Madrid won 2-0 (1-0) against Malmö FF.

Lukas Podolski and Turkish record champions Galatasary will have to wait for their first Champions League win this season after stumbling to a 2-2 (1-0) draw against Kazakh champions FK Astana. They conceded the equalising goal in the 89th minute.

Kevin Trapp can be forgiven for looking ahead to the knockout stages of the competition. The 25-year-old celebrated a 3-0 (2-0) win over Schachtjor Donezk and his side Paris St. Germain will fight for first place with Toni Kroos' Real Madrid side. Both teams have six points on the board after the opening two games.
