At round eight of the German Bundesliga Hanover moved up to seventh in the league with a 2-1 win over Duisburg thanks to a header and a left-footed shot by defender Christian Schulz either side of half-time. Eintracht Frankfurt and Energie Cottbus managed a 2-2 draw as Greek striker Ioannis Amanatidis scored twice for Frankfurt while Bulgarian striker Dimitar Rangelov hit two goals for Cottbus.
