Germany - Serbia and Montenegro 1-0

Germany win a friendly international versus Serbia and Montenegro 1-0 (0-0). Sebastian Kehl (Borussia Dortmund) scored the only goal in Bremen. 26.000 fans watched the match in the Weserstadium of Bremen.

Kehl hit the winner with a thunderous drive from over 25 metres out on 60 minutes for the World Cup runners-up.

Substitute striker Benjamin Lauth also hit the back of the net for the home team but his effort was disallowed for offside with 11 minutes left.

Coach Rudi Völler had to experiment with 13 regular internationals sidelined with injuries.

Serbia and Montenegro have now the lost two of the three games they have played since changing their name from Yugoslavia in February and drawn the other with Azerbaijan. In their next international friendly the three-times world and European champions face Canada on 1th of June 2003 in the new "Arena Wolfsburg".
