Germany lost 1-3 in a trial run against USA

Germany’s U 17 lost 1-3 (0-3) against the USA in an international friendly in Gießen on Friday. The team of Heiko Herrlich will compete in the FIFA U 17 World Championships in Korea later this summer. Sascha Bigalke scored for the Germans.

Herrlich has called together 27 players for the preparational mini-camp, among those Bayern München’s forward Toni Kross as the most experienced player (29 caps) on the squad.

Following the game against the USA, which will also compete in Korea, the German U 17 will continue the build-up for the World Cup with friendly games against Togo (July 28), TSG Hoffenheim (August 5) and Germania Ober-Roden (August 11). The World Cup starts on August 18.
