German team with a 2:2-tie in last test against Norway

The last match of the preparation for the World Cup in China in September ended for the german national team against Norway with a 2:2-tie.

Norway, the World Cup participant who is ranked fourth in the world, took the lead early in the game by Leni Larsen Kaurin. 9715 spectators in the stadium at Mainz saw the 1-1 of the german team after a nice play by Anja Mittag and a shot of Melanie Behringer (22.). Only six minutes later Norway took the lead again. Ragnhild Gulbrandsen scored from a short distance.

In the second half the german team tried to take control of the game. As a result of more pressure Birgit Prinz made the tie (75.). The german team will have a rest for three days. On Monday the team flies to China, where on Monday, September 10th, Argentina will be the first opponent for the reigning champion.

The DFB team had to cope with five players being slightly injured. Renate Lingor (ligament strain in one knee), Sandra Smisek (thigh hardening), Linda Bresonik (adductor injury) and Martina Müller (rib contusion) arrived at the last practice session on Monday not being a 100 percent fit, after playing the last Bundesliga round on Sunday.
