German Cup: Bremen wins the double - 3-2 against Aachen

German Champions Werder Bremen have won the 61st German Cup Final in Berlin on Saturday. They secured the double for the first time in club history by beating Alemannia Aachen of the Second Bundesliga 3-2 (2-0). It was their fifth national cup victory.

Tim Borowski opened the score in front of 70.000 fans in the 31st minute, Ivan Klasnic seemed to assure Werders victory one minute from halftime. But after the break Stefan Blank brought Aachen back in the match (51st), with the outsider creating more and more pressure as the game went on. 15 minutes from time George Mbwando was sent off after bringing Borowski down, leaving Alemannia reduced to ten players. Borowski secured victory in the 84th minute, Erik Meijer smoothened the score for Aachen in injury time.
