Draxler signs for VfL Wolfsburg

World Cup winner Julian Draxler has moved from Schalke 04 to DFB Cup winners and Bundesliga runners-up VfL Wolfsburg, as Schalke announced on Monday evening. The fee is believed to be around €35 million plus up to €7 million in bonuses. Schalke acknowledged the “large economic benefit” in the club’s record fee received for a player.

21-year-old Draxler also had interest from Italian record champions and Champions League finalists Juventus. The Wolfs also completed the signing of Brazilian central defender Dante from Bayern München for a fee of €4 million.
