"DFB Mobile" project extended until 2016

The DFB Mobile will continue to visit amateur clubs across Germany and offer practical tips and qualifications for the next two years. At its meeting in Frankfurt am Main, the DFB Presidential Committee resolved to continue to project until 31 December 2016 as part of the Amateur Football Master Plan.

Ronny Zimmermann, DFB Vice-President for Qualification, said: "The DFB Mobile has become a successful, nationally-recognised institution. The feedback we have received from regional football associations and clubs has been overwhelmingly positive. Offering qualifications directly at grassroots level remains important for us and, with its flexibility and accessibility, the DFB Mobile has proved itself to be extremely well suited to the task."

The DFB has been visiting clubs since 2009 with 30 DFB Mobiles. The aim of the project is to offer youth coaches practical tips in a direct and uncomplicated way, and to inspire these coaches to undertake further qualifications and training courses. During these visits, club staff are also informed about current issues in football, and a training session is conducted with a junior team.

Since the start of 2009, more than 15,000 events have been held, reaching more than 750,000 people, including 114,000 coaches. The 30 DFB Mobiles are in daily operation and park directly outside clubhouses. Around 3,600 events take place each year. "Club repeat visits" and visits to primary schools have also been possible since 2012.
