DFB extends contract with national team manager Oliver Bierhoff

Ex-Germany international Oliver Bierhoff has extended his contract as general manager of the national team until 2010, the German Football Federation (DFB) announced Saturday. The 37-year-old, who retired in 2003, is responsible for the DFB's relationships with German club sides and works closely with headcoach Jurgen Klinsmann.

Klinsmann was a team-mate of the former Hamburg, Udinese, Monaco and AC Milan player at the 1996 European Championship in England where Bierhoff scored the winning goal in the final against the Czech Republic.
