Bayern take revenge on Dortmund

Bayern München took their revenge for the 2-5 thrashing of last year's German Cup final, when they beat cupholders Borussia Dortmund 1-0 to book their ticket for the seimfinals. Arjen Robben scored the decisive goal two minutes before half-time.

VfB Stuttgart had their difficulties against hard-fighting Second Bundesliga tier VfL Bochum, before they were able to celebrate their 2-0 victory. Christian gentner (18th) and Vedad Ivbisevic (81st) were on target.

Freiburg and Wolfsburg book first tickets

On Tuesday SC Freiburg came back from two goals down, when they overcame Bundesliga rivals FSV Mainz 05 away 3-2 after extra-time. Daniel Caligiuri scored the equalizer in stoppage time from the penalty spot and gave his team victory with his second goal of the night after 108 minutes. Mainz had started furiously with two goals in the first four minutes by Shawn Parker (2nd) and Niki Zimling (4th). Ivan Santini was first on target for the guests four minutes from time.

Favourites VfL Wolfsburg secured their place in the semis by beating Third League side Kickers Offenbach 2-1. Ivica Olic (50th) and Bas Dost (71st) had given the "Wolves" a two-goal lead, which Marcel Stadel cut to one nine minutes from time.
