Augsburg climb back to second place

FC Augsburg came from behind to climb back to second place in the Second Bundesliga after winning the top clash against promotion rivals Erzgebirge Aue 2-1 (0-0) on Monday. They are now four points ahead of fourth place.

VfL Bochum and SpVgg Greuther Fürth missed their chance to come closer to promotion by drawing 1-1 in the top match of the Second Bundesliga on Sunday. FC Ingolstadt win the relegation duel at Karlsruher SC 4-1 and are only three points behind 16th place.

Hertha BSC berlin took a glorious 5-0 at Alemannia Aachen on Saturday to push up the lead in the table. Bielefeld and Paderborn tie 1-1 in a derby.

After firing head coach Hans-Günter Bruns, Rot-Weiß Oberhausen managed a goalless draw against Ruhr rivals MSV Duisburg on Friday under new coach Theo Schneider. Elsewhere Energie Cottbus won 2-1 against FSV Frankfurt, while TSV 1860 München claimed three points at Union Berlin (1-0).
