63 out of 64 teams confirmed for the 2017/18 DFB Pokal

As well as all the professional teams, a number of amateur clubs have also qualified for the DFB Pokal. DFB.de provides you with an overview of who will be taking part in Germany’s cup competition next season, including sides as low as the sixth and seventh tier.

63 out of a possible 64 places have been confirmed. The final team will be chosen on 5th June in the match between the Westphalian Oberliga champions and SG Wattenscheid 09.

The lowest-ranked team in the competition is Sportfreunde Dorfmerkingen from the seventh division of German football, whilst sixth-tier side 1. FC Rielasingen-Arlen will also take part. Five clubs are involved from the fifth league as well as eleven from the Regionalliga. Ten sides from the third division will be in action.

How it all works

The 36 fully professional teams from the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga from this season are automatically entered into the DFB Pokal. Alongside these 40 teams, all amateur clubs throughout Germany have the chance to play in the first round.
