Identity of the Data Controller
You are about to provide personal data to the EURO 2024 GmbH having its registered office at Otto-Fleck-Schneise 6, 60528, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, being a joint venture company established by UEFA Events SA and DFB EURO GmbH to act as the local entity implementing certain tasks in the planning, preparation, staging, organisation and dismantling of the UEFA EURO 2024™ due to be held at ten host cities throughout Germany from 14 June until 14 July 2024 (the ‘Event’), acting as data controller, on the Volunteer Portal operated by Union des Associations Européennes de Football (UEFA), Route de Genève 46, 1260 Nyon 2, Switzerland, acting as data processor.
The Volunteer Portal is provided by Rosterfy Ltd, 10 John Street, London, WC1N 2EB, United Kingdom.

Which personal data is collected?
The following personal data about you will be processed by the EURO 2024 GmbH: identifying information (surname and first names, date of birth, gender, photo), contact information (email address, telephone number, postal address), educational and professional information, skills, knowledge, experience and background information.
Legal obligation to provide the data
You are entirely free to participate in this application process. However, if you refuse to provide personal data, you will not be able to apply for a volunteer position.
How are these data processed and why?
Your personal data are necessary to assess your qualifications and personal experience and determine if you meet the specific requirements for an assignment as a volunteer at the Event.
Your personal data are processed by the EURO 2024 GmbH on the basis that such processing is necessary pursuant to Article 6 (1) lit. b of the GDPR for the performance of the Volunteer Terms and Conditions, in particular:
(i) to select the volunteers;
(ii) to communicate with volunteers in the application process; and
(iii) If you are successful in the volunteer selection process, to carry out the volunteer engagement.
If you give us your consent, we will also process your data to inform you about any upcoming events that may be of your interest by means of the newsletter subscription. The legal basis for this processing is Article 6 (1) lit. a of the GDPR.
If you are successful in the volunteer selection process, you will be requested to provide additional personal data at a later stage to become a volunteer.
Your additional personal data will be necessary for the purpose of processing your application for an accreditation, issuing the accreditation, and carrying out any access check procedure or other necessary background screening by the responsible security authorities.
Who are the recipients of the personal data?
You acknowledge that the personal data you are submitting will be available to UEFA, Rosterfy Ltd, EURO 2024 GmbH, including its subsidiaries and any third party appointed by the EURO 2024 GmbH to assist in the organisation of the volunteer programme of the Event (but only in this context).
How to assert your rights?
You can access, update or delete your personal data directly in your personal account on the Volunteer Portal.

In addition, if we as the controller process personal data, you as the data subject have certain rights under Chapter III of the GDPR, depending on the legal basis and the purpose of the processing, in particular the right of access (article 15 of the GDPR) and the rights to rectification (article 16 of the GDPR), erasure (article 17 of the GDPR), restriction of processing (article 18 of the GDPR), and data portability (article 20 of the GDPR), as well as the right to object (article 21 of the GDPR).
If the personal data is processed with your consent, you have the right to withdraw this consent under article 7 (3) of the GDPR.
You also have the right to file a complaint to the responsible data protection supervisory authority regarding the processing of your personal data under datenschutz.hessen.de (article 77 of the GDPR).
How long are your personal data stored?
All personal data will be deleted if it is no longer required for the purposes it was collected for unless you have explicitly consented to a longer period of storage or the EURO 2024 GmbH is entitled or obliged to store the data for a longer period due to legal requirements.
If you do not consent to longer storage, your data will be stored for a period of 180 days after the application process has been concluded. This is usually done to fulfil legal requirements and/or defending ourselves against any claims arising from legal provisions. After this period, we delete or anonymize your data. In case of anonymization, the data will only be available to us in the form of so-called metadata, without any direct personal reference, for statistical analysis (for example, share of male and/or female applicants, number of applications per specified period of time etc.).
Should you be offered and accept a volunteer position with us during the application process, we will store the personal data collected as part of the application process for at least the duration of your volunteer engagement, i.e. the performance of the Volunteer Terms and Conditions for the respective Event.
We reserve the right to adjust this privacy notification at any point in time to ensure that it is in line with the current legal requirements at all times, or in order to accommodate changes in the application process or other processes. In this case, the new privacy notification applies to any later volunteer application.
