World Cup 2003: Germany won quarter final against Russia

In the quarter finals of the World Cup 2003 in the USA the German Women's National Team won against Russia on Friday.

The team of DFB-Coach Tina Theune-Meyer celebrated a 7-1-victory after goals from Martina Müller (25.), Sandra Minnert (57.), Pia Wunderlich (60.), Kerstin Garefrekes (62. and 85.), Birgit Prinz (80. und 89.). The german team is now qualifayed for the Olmypic Games in Athen 2004.

"I expected this to be a much closer," said German coach Tina Theune-Meyer. "Everything worked out well. We played very impressive today.
