Germans as midfielder Steffi Jones torn a ligament in her right knee and is lost for the rest of the tournament.
Meinert volleyed home Kerstin Stegemann's cross past goalkeeper Romina Ferro in the third minute, but the European champions were far from finished. Bettina Wiegmann converted a penalty in the 24th minute after a foul on Birgit Prinz. Only eight minutes later Prinz scored off a half-bicycle kick from 10 yards, her fourth goal of the Cup. Meinert made it 4-0 in the 43rd minute, striking from 20 yards.
Minnnert with 100 international caps
German defence player Sandra Minnert played her 100th international on Saturday against Argentina, becoming the 8th female German player with 100 international caps or more.
