The Germany U17s have been handed an interesting group in the second stage of qualifying for the European Under-17 Championship. Michael Prus’ side were drawn into Group 8 alongside hosts Greece, Scotland and Norway at UEFA headquarters in Nyon on Wednesday.
The three matchdays will take place on 21st, 24th and 27th March 2018. The winners from each of the eight groups, as well as the seven best second-placed sides, will qualify for the 2018 tournament finals in England between 4th and 20th May. The Germany U17s just missed out on the final at EURO 2017 in Croatia, suffering a 4-2 penalty shootout defeat to Spain in the semis.
Qualifying for the 2019 edition of the tournament won’t see Germany enter until the second round, having been guaranteed a bye. The finals in two years’ time will be held in Ireland.
