Toni Kroos a record four-time Club World Cup winner

Another historic day in the career of Toni Kroos, as the World Champion with Germany won the FIFA Club World Cup for a record fourth time. Cristiano Ronaldo scored the only goal as Real Madrid beat Copa Libertadores winners Gremio 1-0, earning Kroos and Real their fifth of a possible six titles in 2017.

As usual, Toni Kroos was pulling the strings in the centre of the park for the Champions League holders, although it was a Ronaldo free-kick that decided the game. Real Madrid have therefore become the first side in the history of the FIFA Club World Cup to defend their crown, having beaten Kashima Antlers last year.

Kroos also won the trophy with Real in 2014, as well as with FC Bayern München in 2013.
