The TSG 1899 Hoffenheim forward has been unable to train due to a capsule ligament injury in the upper ankle joint of his left foot and departed the team hotel in Stuttgart on Tuesday evening. As a consequence, Germany head coach Joachim Löw currently has a total of 23 players at his disposal.
The World Cup holders met on Tuesday in Stuttgart to begin preparations for both upcoming matches. On Wednesday afternoon, there will be a press conference with Oliver Bierhoff, Sami Khedira and Joshua Kimmich as well as another training session prior to the team departing for Prague on Thursday.
