It has become much easier for football fans to go and meet Manuel Neuer – or at least his waxwork figure. The Germany goalkeeper proudly unveiled the waxwork on Monday evening at the Berlin branch of the wax museum “Madame Tussaud’s”. He and his doppelganger look astonishingly alike.
“That’s definitely Manuel Neuer,” confirms the Bayern München player. He adds jokingly: “If I’m unavailable, because I have an appointment or a match, my fans can now always come here to see me.”
Neuer’s measurements were taken five months ago. 20 artists have been involved in the production of the waxwork, which is valued at €200,000. It pictures Neuer distributing a ball during the World Cup Final against Argentina. “I’m glad I don’t always look this serious,” commented the DFB-Team goalkeeper
This means Neuer is now displayed among the likes of Oliver Kahn, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mesut Özil and Franz Beckenbauer, who also have their waxworks on display at Berlin’s wax museum. “This waxwork will probably last forever,” said Neuer. “It’s something totally new to me and it has been a pretty awesome experience.”
