Münster climb to second after late comeback

Superb morale. Preußen Münster won the headline game of matchday 23 in the third division 2-1 against Dynamo Dresden. Marcel Reichwein and Rogier Krohne turned the game in its ahead after Sylvano Comvalius had given Dresden the lead. However, Dynamo’s Dominic Baumann was given his marching orders shortly after the break and meant that Dresden has to defend the lead with ten men. Stuttgarter Kickers remain in third after coming from 2-0 down to win 3-2 against FSV Mainz II.

The headline game between Preußen and Dynamo didn’t disappoint. The first half was full of compact defending that allowed few chances on goal. Things lived up after the interval though with Dresden’s Comvalius’ robust shot giving the guests the lead. Life was made tough for Dynamo when Baumann was shown red for a foul on Benjamin Siegert. Dynamo assistant manager Marco Gebhardt was sent to the stands by referee Michael Weiner moments later.

Münster made full advantage of the extra man and produced the equaliser soon after the dismissal following a free kick from Amaury Bischoff. Krohne was played through at the death and struck the winning goal to send Münster back into the promotion places.

Kickers with fantastic second-half comeback

Great comeback. Despite Stuttgarter Kickers being 2-0 down to FSV Mainz 05 II after 55 minutes, they won the game 3-2. Mounir Bouziane and Lucas Höler gave Mainz a two-goal cushion, before Kickers responded with goals from Marco Calamita and Gerrit Müller in the space of two minutes. Fabio Leutenecker popped up in the 88th minute for Stuttgarter Kickers to complete a spectacular turnaround.
