Müller: "We have unfinished business with Wolfsburg"

Ten wins from as many games in the Bundesliga this season. FC Bayern München continue to cruise at the top of the table following their 4-0 win over 1. FC Köln on matchday 10. Furthermore, it was also the 1000th Bundesliga win in the club's history. World Champion Thomas Müller was on target from the spot against the Billy Goats and spoke with DFB.de after the game about this landmark victory, their upcoming crunch fixture with VfL Wolfsburg in the DFB Cup, and the return of Arjen Robben.

Question: Mr. Müller, what does the 1000th Bundesliga victory mean to FC Bayern?

Thomas Müller: It means that we have to try and win again on Tuesday at Wolfsburg in the cup. It's a nice stat that the club has earned, but it doesn't really have any relevance to what we are trying to accomplish.

Question: But it was quite tough to find the breakthrough against Köln?

Müller: Köln played even more defensively than some of our other opponents. A 4-0 win is a great result and it was a lot of fun out there. The first two goals were extremely important. Obviously I would've liked to score from my first chance to make it easier for my team, but a 2-0 lead at half time was superb for us, because we know how difficult it is to play against defensive teams.

Question: Do you expect a different game against Wolfsburg?

Müller: Hopefully we will be presented with more space. We know that Wolfsburg are dangerous in attack, but as a forward you hope that you are given some space to make runs with the ball at your feet.

Question: What does your 5-1 victory in the league against Wolfsburg a few weeks ago mean going into the cup fixture?

Müller: It's still in the back of our minds, but I think it will only give Wolfsburg an extra bit of motivation. We will definitely travel to Wolfsburg knowing what to expect. And since this is a cup game, we still have some unfinished business with Wolfsburg.

Question: If Rafinha were given a German passport, do you think he would be a candidate for the German national team?

Müller: Because of his quality on and off the pitch he would certainly be a candidate. I'm not sure how relevant this is, but I only have good things to say about Rafinha.

Question: Do you think you will play with a similarly attacking formation against Wolfsburg as you did against Köln?

Müller: It always depends on the opposition. We expected that Köln would defend from a very deep position and we needed players to occupy positions in forward areas. That was our plan.

Question: How happy are you about the return of Arjen Robben?

Müller: It's always good for the team when injured players return. It gives us more options. The players who returned to the pitch put on some good performances today.
