Halstenberg suffers torn ACL

Germany international Marcel Halstenberg of Bundesliga club RB Leipzig has torn the ACL in his left knee in training yesterday. The club confirmed the news after he received an examination from a doctor in Augsburg earlier today. The full back will be operated on “soon” and faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The 26-year-old Halstenberg made his debut for die Mannschaft on 10th November last year in the 0-0 draw against England. He is one of Ralph Hasenhüttl’s key players at RB Leipzig. Halstenberg has made 15 Bundesliga appearances in this campaign, but also had to deal with a broken hand earlier in the season.
