Germany international Ilkay Gündogan scored a brace in Manchester City’s 4-0 win in the Champions League in Basel this evening. Ilkay scored the opener with a header in the 14th minute from Kevin de Bruyne and scored a delightful second with a strike from the edge of the area which flew into the back of the Switzerland champions’ goal. Bernando Silva and Sergio Aguero netted the other two goals.
A further highlight from the game was Leroy Sané’s comeback. The 22-year-old came back from a two week break following his injury in Manchester City’s FA Cup clash. It was initially suspected Sané would be sidelined for up to six weeks.
