Goretzka to move to FC Bayern this summer

Confederations Cup winner Leon Goretzka has agreed to move to Bundesliga leaders FC Bayern Munich from current club Schalke 04 in the summer. The record champions confirmed this morning that the 22-year-old midfielder has signed a four year contract until 30th June 2022.

“We’re extremely happy that a Germany international such as Leon Goretzka has chosen to stay in his home country with FC Bayern, despite the competition from abroad. It’s now confirmed that Leon will stay in the Bundesliga,” said Karl-Heinz-Rummenigge, the chairman of the Munich club.

Goretzka moved to the Gelsenkirchen club from VfL Bochum in the summer of 2013. He has played 130 games for the Royal Blues and scored 19 goals.
