Four new members for DFB Presidential Board

The DFB Congress in Nuremberg has appointed four new members to the Presidential Board of the German Football Association (DFB). Reinhard Grindel, from Rotenburg, has been appointed as Treasurer; Peter Frymuth, from Düsseldorf, has been made Vice President of Match Operations and Football Development; Eugen Gehlenborg, from Garrel, has been appointed Vice President of Sociopolitical Tasks, and Ronny Zimmermann, from Wiesloch, becomes Vice President of Qualification. They succeed Rolf Hocke, Hermann Korfmacher, Karl Rothmund and Horst R. Schmidt, who have all passed the age limit of 70 and consequently did not stand for re-election.

President Wolfgang Niersbach will lead the 17-strong DFB Presidential Board for the next three-year legislative period. He was re-elected along with Dr. Rainer Koch, who will no longer oversee the Court and Statute Matters portfolio but will now be 1st Vice President for Amateur Football and Regional and State Association Affairs, effective immediately. His fellow 1st DFB Vice President, Dr. Reinhard Rauball, will continue in his role as President of the League Association, as will the League Vice Presidents, Christian Seifert (Chairman of the DFL Executive Board), Peter Peters and Harald Strutz.

Hannelore Ratzeburg (Women’s and Girls’ Football), Dr. Hans-Dieter Drewitz (Youth Football) and Rainer Milkoreit (Grassroots Football and Sport) were also re-elected as DFB Vice Presidents. The new Presidential Board line-up is completed by General Secretary Helmut Sandrock, manager of the national team Oliver Bierhoff and the two Honorary Presidents, Dr. h.c. Egidius Braun and Dr. h.c. Gerhard Mayer-Vorfelder.
