After Ilkay Gündogan and Leroy Sané picked up their first Premier League winners’ medals, Die Mannschaft’s Julian Draxler and Kevin Trapp also celebrated winning their respective league title. On matchday 33, PSG defeated AS Monaco 7-1 to clinch the Ligue 1 title on Sunday evening. With a total of 87 points, the club from France’s capital are now uncatchable at the top.
Draxler, who scored the final goal of the game in the 86th minute, celebrated his fifth trophy with PSG but this was his first Ligue 1 title. For Trapp, it was his second league title with the club after winning the trophy in 2016 as well. PSG still harbour hopes for winning a domestic treble as they are currently in the semi-finals of the Coupe de France, having already won the Coupe de la Ligue earlier this season.
