Dortmund celebrate eighth championship

Borussia Dortmund have done it again: The Westphalians secured the Bundesliga title with a 2-0 (1-0) at home against Borussia Mönchengladbach, meaning they are eight points ahead of Bayern München with only two matches to go. The Bavarians had kept their slim chances alive with a 2-1 (0-0) at Werder Bremen earlier.

In the fight against relegation 1. FC Köln earned a point against VfB Stuttgart, who secured their place in European football with the 1-1 (0-0), while Hertha BSC Berlin lost 1-2 (0-2) against 1. FC Kaiserslautern, the latter definitely going down to Second Bundesliga nevertheless.

On Sunday Schalke 04 suffered a set back in tbeir fight for the Champions League as they draw 1-1 at Augsburg. SC Freiburg booked their ticket for next Bundesliga season with a 0-0 at Hannover.
