International Commitment

International Relations and Strategic Projects

The DFB is a partner of various national associations. These include the English Football Association (FA), the Japanese Football Association (JFA) and the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB). The aim of the cooperation is to generate value and knowledge for both the partner association and the local football institutions as well as for German football.

The International Relations and Strategic Projects Division s.o. is responsible for supporting and promoting the DFB's bilateral relations with other national associations. This also includes the establishment of formalized cooperation ventures, the contents of which are defined in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Currently, the DFB maintains MoU-based ventures with the national associations of China, The Netherlands, and Japan, as well as with the Shanghai Football Association.

The International Relations and Strategic Projects Division strives for "eye to eye" cooperation and strategic partnerships, to the benefit of both the respective partner association and the DFB. The cooperation includes, for example, projects in the fields of talent promotion, coach education, competition organization and the promotion of football culture.
