Polish referee Szymon Marciniak will officiate world champions Germany’s EURO 2016 round of 16 match against Slovakia in Lille on Sunday (18:00 CEST, live on ZDF and Fan-Club-Radio). This was announced today by UEFA.
35-year-old Marciniak has been a FIFA referee since 2011 and has already taken charge of two matches at the European Championship: Iceland’s 2-1 win over Austria and Spain’s 1-0 win over Czech Republic. In total, the Pole has shown six yellow cards in the tournament, and correctly awarded Austria a penalty in their game against Iceland. However, Aleksander Dragovic hit the post.
