Olympic team to train at EC Bahia

The German football federation (DFB) has reached an agreement with Esporte Clube Bahaia in Salvador for the Olympic team use their facilities to train while they are contesting their first two Olympic matches against Mexico (4th August, 22:00 CEST) and South Korea (7th August, 21:00 CEST). “We are very thankful to Esporte for allowing us to use their facilities. Due to the close proximity and the freedom to schedule our sessions when we want, we will have the optimum conditions in which to prepare for the games. Their warm hospitality that the DFB experienced in 2014 was plain to see again during the negotiations,” explained Horst Hrubesch.

Esporte president Marcelo Sant’Anna commented: “The fact that the World Champions want to train here is a massive acknowledgement. We can offer the DFB very good conditions with our re-laid pitches and new changing rooms with facilities for fitness training and physiotherapy.”

The team will get their first tast of the training ground on Monday when Horst Hrubesch meets the squad for their first training session in Brazil. The anticipation is huge for both the guests and the hosts.
