Löw gives the players Tuesday off

3-0 against Slovakia, a convincing performance, mission accomplished. Die Mannschaft have lived up to the Germany coach’s expectations, and are being rewarded for it. After progressing into the quarter final of EURO 2016 in France, which will take place in Bordeaux on Saturday (21:00 CEST), Joachim Löw has given his players Tuesday off, after training on Monday afternoon. There will only be individual and regeneration training on Tuesday, while the next team training session in Évian will take place on Wednesday.

To justify his decision, Löw says: "The tournament is now moving into its decisive phase. We are expecting opponents who will really test us. We need to be top fit and fresh. The team are taking a day off to recharge their batteries."
