HSV still without a win

Hamburger SV are still without a win in the Bundesliga after losing 3-0 against Eintracht Frankfurt on new manager Markus Gisdol’s home debut. Hamburger SV went behind when Lewis Holtby scored an own goal in the 35th minute. Shani Tarashaj (60’) and Haris Seferović (69’) also got on the scoresheet to make it 3-0 to Eintracht Frankfurt. Hamburger SV went down to ten men in the 57th minute when Dennis Diekmeier was sent off for a second yellow.

Eintracht Frankfurt deserved to get the win as they had the most clear goal scoring opportunities. They could have taken the lead just 120 seconds before the opening goal but midfielder Marco Fabian’s shot went just over the bar.

HSV looked determined to make the comeback but they were lacking in ideas to break through the Frankfurt defence. Holtby put the ball in his own net from a cross coming from the right, before Tarashaj made it 2-0 with a stunning strike.

Seferović scored the third goal in the 69th minute to decide the game. Despite a noteworthy performance from HSV goalkeeper René Adler, he couldn’t prevent his team from losing 3-0.
