DFB-Team arrive in São Paulo

Germany’s Women’s team have completed the first stage of their Olympic adventure. The players and staff arrived in São Paulo after an 11-hour flight from Frankfurt/Main on Saturday morning (local time). Upon arrival they headed to the Bourbon Convention Ibirapuera Hotel.

After eating breakfast as a group, Silvia Neid’s side undertook a light training session, their first on Brazilian soil. The European Champions open up their campaign on Wednesday in the Arena Corinthians against outsiders Zimbabwe (23:00 CEST). Their other group opponents are Australia and Canada.

Their male counterparts head to Brazil on Saturday night. They are flying to Salvador via Rio de Janeiro. Horst Hrubesch’s men face Mexico, South Korea and Fiji in the first round.
