Sixth championship for Potsdam

1. FFC Turbine Potsdam have crowned themselves German Champions for the sixth time overall and the fourth consecutive season. The team from Brandenburg thrashed 1. FC Lok Leipzig 8-0 (3-0) at home and defended their lead ahead of contenders VfL Wolfsburg, who only managed a 1-1 (0-0) at SG Essen-Schönebeck and ended three points behind Turbine.

Leipzig meanwhile are the second team to relegate after Hamburger SV withdrew their team earlier this month.

Yuki Nagasato scored three times in front of 6460 visitors in Karl-Liebknecht-Stadion in Potsdam, while Genoveva Anonma secured her title as best goalgetter of the season with two more goals, adding to a total of 22. The other goals came by Antonia Göransson (36.), Margret Lara Vidarsdottir (86.) and Isabel Kerschowski (88.).
