At the end of round 29 of Bundesliga Hamburger SV got not more than a 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen with its new coach Sami Hyypiä. Hamburg miss the chance to make an importand step away from the way down area. Two teams that have played in ther Europe League this week faced each other on sunday afternoon. Schalke 04 got three points with its 3-0 success against Hannover.

Borussia Dortmund and Bayern München handled their business victorious and will square off on wednesday for maybe the deciding match in the race for the championship. Dortmund came away with a 3-1 (1-0) at Wolfsburg, while München defeated Augsburg 2-1 (1-1).

At the bottom of the table, 1. FC Köln missed out on an important, playing in a 1-1 (1-1) against Werder Bremen. Freiburg came back from two goals down to secure a point with a 2-2 (0-2) versus Nürnberg, and Stuttgart cruised to a 4-1 (1-1) over Mainz, despite being down after three minutes.

Kaiserslautern stayed winless for the 19th time in a row, losing 1-2 (0-1) to 1899 Hoffenheim. With nine points distance to place 16, the "red devils" face relegation, five days away from the end of the season.

For nearly two months, Borussia Mönchengladbach is waiting for a home win. On saturday evening, the team of coach Lucien Favre played in a scoreless tie against Hertha BSC Berlin.
