Wolfsburg and Potsdam in last four

VfL Wolfsburg became the first team to qualify for this year’s Women’s DFB Cup semi-finals with a 2-1 win over league rivals SC Sand. Only in the 79th minute did Zsanett Jakabfi fire the Wolves into a lead in front of 501 spectators in the Stadion Elsterweg, but Rebekah Stott netted a surprise equaliser in added time to force extra time. Martina Müller then secured victory for Wolfsburg with a late goal three minutes from the end of extra time.

The Wolves managed a more comfortable victory over SC Sand when they met in the Allianz Women’s Bundesliga in October, coming out on top 4-0.

1. FFC Turbine Potsdam booked their place in the final four of the competition with a 3-0 victory against 1. FC Köln. Germany international Pauline Bremer opener the scoring for the hosts just after the break, who has found the going tough of late. Tabea Kemme and Bremer again struck late to ensure victory for Potsdam against the league leaders of the southern section of the second division.
