The Bayer Leverkusen central suffered an adductor problem, making it impossible for him to appear at the tournament.
The 21-year old is one of the leading players in the U21 setup, and has featured three times for the senior national team. Head coach Stefan Kuntz has replaced the injured Tah with 20 year old Hannover 96 defender Waldermar Anton, who was in the initial provisional squad but like Timo Baumgartl, was cut. Anton now has the chance to profit from Tah’s injury thanks to UEFA’s rules, which allow a chance change at this point in time in the event of an injury.
