André Schürrle has pulled out of the Germany squad for the upcoming EURO 2016 qualifier against Gibraltar (14th November, 20:45 CET) and the following friendly against Spain (18th November, 20:45 CET). The Chelsea winger will also not travel to Berlin on Monday, where the national team will be awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf by Federal President Joachim Gauck, before they attend the premiere of “Die Mannschaft” in the evening.
Schürrle could only complete a reduced training programme in October due to illness. After consulting Joachim Löw, he will stay in London in order to complete individual training and optimise his fitness levels.
