Melanie Leupolz voted "player of the match"

A brace from Melanie Leupolz: the 20-year-old has been chosen as player of the match for the second time in a row. After being chosen after the 2-0 loss to France, the midfielder has now been voted player of the match after their 2-1 win against Sweden by the national team Fan Club, powered by Coca-Cola.

Leupolz received 43.8% of the vote ahead of Dzsenifer Marozsan (33.3%) and Josephine Henning (22.9%), with a total of 1,093 fans casting their vote.

The player from Munich played in the centre of midfield in Örebro and gave the Germany team a constant threat going forward, whilst at the same time helping out at the back along with midfield partner Marozsan. In her 21st international appearance, Leupolz was responsible for setting up dangerous attacks with clever balls and was essential in the team’s win. Thanks to her performance, she will have collected vital brownie points from manager Silvia Neid ahead of the 2015 World Cup in Canada.
