Löw looking for 100th win vs. Cameroon

After the 1-1 draw with Chile, Germany head back to Sochi where they will face Cameroon in their final group match at the Confederations Cup later today (17:00 CEST). We take a look at the facts and stats ahead of Joachim Löw's side's clash with the "Untameable Lions".

RECORD BETWEEN THE SIDES: Germany have played Cameroon three times in their history and are undefeated against them. Two victories were followed by a 2-2 draw in their last encounter on 1st June 2014 in Mönchengladbach. This was the first time that Germany had conceded to Cameroon.

CLASSIC AT THE WORLD CUP: The first and only competitive meeting between the sides came at group stage of the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea. On 11th June 2002, Rudi Völler's team needed just a draw against the side managed by Winnie Schäfer to progress to the knockout phase. Despite a red card for Carsten Ramelow in the 40th minute, goals from substitute Marco Bode (50') and Miroslav Klose (78') sealed a 2-0 win for Germany and a place in the last 16 as group winners ahead of Ireland.

K&K ON TARGET: The next meeting was on 17th November 2004 in the Zentralstadion in Leipzig. Late goals from Kevin Kuranyi (72') and Miroslav Klose (78', 89') ensured Germany ran out comfortable winners.

CHOUPO-MOTING SECURES DRAW: Cameroon scored their first goal against Germany on 1st June 2014 in Mönchengladbach through superstar Samuel Eto’o (62'). However, goals from Thomas Müller (66') and Andre Schürrle (71') turned the game in Germany's favour. Schalke's Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting salvaged a draw for the Cameroonians in the 78th minute.

GOALS ONLY COME IN THE SECOND HALF: All nine goals between the sides have been scored in the second half. Eight of those have come in the last 30 minutes.

THE RUN CONTINUES: Germany are unbeaten in twelve matches (nine wins, three draws). The last time they recorded a longer run was between August 2013 and July 2014 (18 matches) which culminated in them winning the World Cup. Germany have only lost one of their last seven matches at the Confederations Cup - the 2005 semi-final against Brzil 3-2. Since then the Germans have had four wins and two draws.

STINDL TOPSCORER: Lars Stindl played well as Germany's loan front man in the last match against Chile. The Gladbach forward not only became the top scorer in the competition with his second goal, but he also had the most shots of any player on the pitch (4).

GOALS AT THE CONFED CUP: Germany have scored at least twice in six of their last seven games at the Confed Cup (the anomaly being the most recent match against Chile which finished 1-1). Germany have scored 19 goals during that period at an average of 2.7 goals per game. The Germans have also conceded at least two goals in six of their last eight Confed Cup game and only kept one clean sheet during that time (3-0 against Tunisia in 2005).

50 CAN WAIT: A loss to Cameroon would be Germany 50th competitive defeat in their history.
